Amendment 1 is clear-cut: YOU would get the right to vote for Kansas Supreme Court justices. Currently, 9 unelected people, 5 lawyers and 4 non-lawyers makes those decisions behind closed doors — you don’t get to vote or have input. No transparency. That’s not how democracy is supposed to work.

Planned Parenthood, a multibillion dollar industry, and their front groups are pouring millions into opposing Amendment 1. What’s at stake for them? Right now their money and their lobbyists have a lot of power behind those closed doors in picking our Supreme Court justices. If voters get a voice, it might not be in their best interest! Vote YES to make our Supreme Court fair, impartial, and transparent.

No Kansas Supreme Court justice has ever been voted out in a retention election because the system is unfair. Voters check “retain” or “not retain” for justices, who they have little information about, limited visibility into their performance, and no meaningful public scrutiny. This is not how democracy should work. We need transparency.

Vote “Yes” to end undue influence by political insiders like Big Abortion lobbyists. Let’s give Kansas voters a say in selecting our Supreme Court.
